On "Some Guy Said It"

Dumplin' Dumbash is whining that Geisler and Turkek don't give various claims from non-Christian sources enough "meticulous cross-examination." Oh really? Why not?

Uh...he never says why not. Well, that makes it easy, doesn't it?

News flash: We here HAVE done the "exploration" Dumbash whines is missing - on things like the ""obvious interpolations into Josephus" (and see now Ch. 1 of Shattering the Christ Myth by Christopher Price). (That's the only real "argument" he as much as alludes to; otherwise, Dumbash also says, weirdly, that "some of the testimony, such as Pliny's report of coercing Christians into sacrificing to Roman gods, directly contradicts certain points on the list" provided by Geisler and Turek. Unfortunately, he never bothers to explain which one on the list and how there's an alleged contradiction. Maybe he thinks it is "His disciples were willing to die for their belief" but Pliny does not "directly contradict" this at all; Dumbash is apparently too insensate to think of an idea that while some did die for their beliefs, others did not. That's the sort of thinking you get when you're still a fundy.)

There's all the usual blatter too. Comparison of apostolic tradition to hearsay and the game of telephone. Yaaaaaawn. Kindergarten scholarship, Dumbash. When you advance past stupid arguments like "if Jesus can truly enter the heart of a believer without truly leaving heaven" and your crybaby God-in-real-life-would-kiss-my-rear-end canard...give us a call.
