Some Reply Comments to Mojo

from Kevin Graham

Editor's Note: Kevin Graham is a leading Internet apologist for Mormonism who has edited a project called Mormonism 201. This is a reply to a major Evengelical book on Mormonism. One can therefore hardly claim he is not objective in this context. Graham and I were formerly "enemies" online but we have long since buried the hatchet after finding, among other things, that we share the same hometown and the same passion for owning small, active dogs. I asked Kevin for some comments on what Mojo did and said in linking to McGregor's review of TMD. Here is his response.

Two things:

  1. McGregor is not "of Brigham Young University." He is a senior analyst programmer at Livestock Improvement Corporation in New Zealand.
  2. McGregor's review has sparked interest from several LDS apologists who actually respect Holding's respectful tone and methodology. He critiques a faith's arguments without attacking the faith itself -- something that very few LDS critics have managed successfully.

Consequently, we have taken it upon ourselves to write a serious review of his book that is forthcoming. It is my opinion - and the opinion of several other LDS apologists - that McGregor provided an off the cuff response which addressed not one single argument in Holding's book, and his review should not be taken too seriously by LDS apologists or any of JP's critics. As an aside, I think that any critic who insists on making a huge deal from JP's name is revealing the weakness of his own position.
